It's been another busy week in Eagles and Hawks. The children did a sterling job with their sponsored run on Monday, with many people smashing their record from last year. We've worked on developing our mixing and painting skills through using acrylic paints; and measuring in the real world. We've also continued honing our coding skills, using Python and micro bits - again, the children far outstripped the adults. Finally, today, we were visited by Clive Pig who regaled us with some tales from the Anglo Saxon sagas to link with our History work from this term.

Hedgehogs 🦔 and Squirrels 🐿️ have had a fantastic week of learning!
In English, we’ve been busy writing postcards as if we were Paddington Bear 🧳—thinking carefully about his adventures and how he might describe them. The children showed great imagination and worked hard on their sentence writing.
In Maths, we’ve been building confidence with our 2, 5 and 10 times tables—practising counting in multiples and spotting patterns.
In Art, we’ve begun creating our final pieces inspired by the artist Paul Klee 🎨. The class has been exploring portraits and experimenting with shapes and colours, and we’re excited to see the finished results!

Robins and Starlings have had a fun-filled week both indoors and out! We’ve been building villages inspired by Handa’s Surprise using our construction toys, practicing our writing on the blackboard and creating beautiful African prints. We’re hoping the sunshine continues so we can make even more use of our outdoor classroom! ☀️

What a fantastic few weeks of learning across our classrooms: Foxes, Otters and Badgers! 🦊🦦🦡
Our younger learners have been diving deep into the world of whales 🐋, exploring a range of engaging stories before channelling their knowledge into impressive non-fiction reports. Their hard work, curiosity and growing confidence as writers has been wonderful to see!
Meanwhile, our older pupils have wrapped up their powerful narrative work inspired by When the Giant Stirred 🌋, producing some truly thoughtful and imaginative writing. They’ve now begun an exciting new journey into historical poetry, exploring The Windrush Child 🌍—a unit already sparking meaningful discussions and creative expression.
We’re so proud of the enthusiasm, effort and creativity shining through in every classroom—keep it up everyone! ✨📚

This week marks our final focus on the theme All Creatures Great and Small, with special attention on ocean animals. We’ve introduced a “Wiggly Jellyfish” who needs help creating repeating patterns, encouraging the children to explore pattern-making in a fun, engaging way.
Outdoors, we have set up a water-themed tuff tray where children can explore sea creatures and enjoy sensory water play.
We are also continuing to develop fine motor skills. The children will be helping an Easter Bunny by threading beads onto its whiskers, supporting their hand-eye coordination and control.

🌟 What a fantastic half term in PE for Badgers, Foxes & Otters! 🦡🦊🦦
Our pupils have been showing off their creativity and confidence through dance 💃🕺—skills that have really shone through while practising for our Production this half term! 🎭✨
We’ve also been busy developing our netball skills 🏐, and it’s been brilliant to get outside in the lovely weather this week ☀️🌿. The children have loved playing matches outdoors!
It’s been wonderful to see such great progress in their passing, movement, and teamwork 🤝👏—they are really starting to play as a team and support one another on the court.
Well done everyone—we are so proud of your hard work and enthusiasm! 🌈💪

We have been continuing to develop our play over the last few weeks with our play ambassadors! Have you seen some of our incredible play zones?
They include our 3 playgrounds and field, our quadrangle and Y1/2 exploration zone, our Woodland lodge and our new forest area.
We are currently replenishing play with our OPAL bingo - thank you to everyone who has donated things. If you have anything on our Bingo card that you don't need, we would love to rehome it!

This week we are exploring all things dinosaurs! Outside, we have created a dinosaur tuff tray where the children can become explorers and discover different dinosaurs through sensory play and investigation.
Inside the classroom, the children will be using several dinosaur skeleton puzzles to match and complete. This encourages problem-solving, fine motor skills, and an understanding of how dinosaurs were structured.
For our Reception starters, we are continuing to focus on letter recognition and letter formation. The children will be practising identifying letters and forming them correctly.
In maths this week, the children will be creating their own shapes and patterns.

Science Week 2026 in Robins and Starlings has been all about turning our curious children into curious scientists. Presented with questions about space really got their brains activated and this led to thoughtful discussions that were full of interesting facts. A mystery moon bag, exciting experiments and rocket making encouraged them to explore the wonders of space further. We definitely have some budding scientists in the making! 🚀🔬
